Felony Criminal Mischief Arrest

On 02/21/2019 at approx. 0500 hours Sgt. Clanton,Deputy G. Melton and Deputy D. Bell made contact with a vehicle on CR 403. Deputies made contact with the occupants who were identified as John Eldridge "Parkin" and Ronald Shane Bailey "Parkin". Deputies observed what they believed to be freshly cut copper wire in the trunk of the vehicle along with tools commonly used in burglaries. Due to the recent number of thefts in this particular area Detectives were called to the scene to assist. Deputies were able to follow the fresh tire tracks in the wet gravel for approximately 10 miles north on CR 403. The tracks led to a local farmers grain bins. Deputies and Detectives discovered the wire in the vehicle matched the wire on the scene along with multiple other items that linked the suspects to the initial area. Both subjects were arrested and charged with the below crimes and will have a bond set later today.

Criminal Mischief 1st Degree A.C.A. 5-38-203 (Class B Felony)
Theft of Scrap Metal A.C.A. 5-36-123 ( Class D Felony)
Criminal Trespassing A.C.A. 5-39-203 (Class A Misd.)
Obstruction of Interior Prohibited A.C.A. 27-37-304 (Class C Misd.)
