Child Pornography Arrest

On 10/04/2018 Det. Sgt. Nichols Launched an investigation after a minor and their parents arrived at the Cross County Sheriff's Office to report obscene photo's had been sent to their child's Facebook account. The suspect was identified as Charlie Ray Partain Sr. (36, Wynne) and the Detective began conversing with him via Facebook. After explicit messages and more photos were obtained the suspect wanted to meet the minor. Contact was made at an undisclosed location and with the assistance of Deputies, 1st Judicial Drug Task Force and Wynne Police Department and Charlie Partain Sr.  was arrested. Charlie Partain is currently being held at the Cross County Jail on a $50,000.00 cash bond.

Sheriff JR Smith " I would like to commend the swift action taken by Sgt. Nichols and all that were involved. I would like to remind parents of the dangers associated with social media and to be involved with your children's social media activity. If not for the concerned family members this subject could have continued to prey on the youth of our community.
