Deputy Allen Clanton was on routine patrol on Highway 1 North on Friday, April 8, 2016.  He noticed a yellow mustang that was southbound in front of him.  When the driver spotted Deputy Clanton behind him, he immediately slowed down to 55 mph the speed limit.  Deputy Clanton ran the license tag number through Dispatch and it returned to a yellow Ford Contour.  He activated his lights, stopped the vehicle and made contact with the driver.  He asked the driver for identification and he gave him an identification card that returned that his drivers license were suspended. Deputy Clanton could smell a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.  Mr. Weeams stated they had smoked some earlier.  Clanton placed Johnelle Weeams in custody for driving on a suspended drivers license and called for assistance.  Clanton asked the other two occupants of the vehicle for a drivers license and neither Ezekiel Green or Tianna Cotton could provide a valid drivers license.  At this time Deputy Clanton called for Alexander Wrecker to tow the vehicle.  Upon search and inventory of the vehicle he discovered a duffle bag behind the seat that was later determined to include a green leafy brick like form of marijuana in the amount of 447.9 grams. Johnelle Weeams stated it was not his and all subjects were placed into custody and transported to the Cross County Jail. 

 Johnelle Weeams, age 22 of Jonesboro was charged with Driving on Suspended Drivers License, Fictitious Tags and Possession of a Controlled Substance. His Bond was set at $25,000.00

 Ezekiel Green, age 21 of Verona, MS was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance. His Bond was set at $25,000.00

 Tianna Cotton, age 21 of Verona, MS was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance. Her Bond was set at $25,000.00.
